This is very much one of those β€œIf you know, you know” podcasts. I’m from the Bay Area/NorCal and even though I *could* have said something about the focus on LA under the umbrella of California, I know it ain’t fully about that. This podcast is a love letter to LA, yes, but also (in my opinion) a love letter to folks who share the same kind of background as Walter, existing at so many different intersections of race, class, and culture, constantly navigating and negotiating them in different spaces, across time. In that sense, there’s no real correlation between where you call home and your ability to connect with these themes and narratives. I am so grateful that this show exists ✊🏿

a sensitive, moving reflection on how places often shape us in ways that take a lifetime to understand. walter tells stories that we all carry in our formative conscience with patience, clarity, and a genuine love for his home.

I really enjoyed this show because it lifts us such beautiful human experiences. Walter does such a great job of narrating. The sounds are so beautiful and I felt like I was there. I felt like I was there. I can’t wait for more!
