“This is very much one of those “If you know, you know” podcasts. I’m from the Bay Area/NorCal and even though I *could* have said something about the focus on LA under the umbrella of California, I know it ain’t fully about that.
This podcast is a love letter to LA, yes, but also (in my opinion) a love letter to folks who share the same kind of background as Walter, existing at so many different intersections of race, class, and culture, constantly navigating and negotiating them in different spaces, across time. In that sense, there’s no real correlation between where you call home and your ability to connect with these themes and narratives.
