“I first met Dan back in 2012 when my wife and I were registering for his Gladiator Rock-N-Run in San Antonio Texas. Dan and I are both from Asian backgrounds (I’m half Chinese) and he called me a Haupa Haole 😂 and I knew would get along famously! 😂 We have stayed in touch as he inspired me after my lumbar cage fusion (L4-L5-S1 fusion with cadaver disc replacement) that I could do more than others let me believe. He told me candidly about his life before and after American Gladiators and the struggles and victories that peppered his life journey. Fast forward and the military life and several deployments landed me under the knife again with a C5-C6 stainless steel ball and trough disc replacement. Fitness and a passion for helping others led me to recover bigger faster stronger and get certified as a personal trainer because Dan helped me to believe in myself and told me to chase my dreams with conviction. I then retired from the military after 28 years and tackled my passion head on! Dan is a Great friend and we had a lot in common, both Asian, both big guys, both live and love fitness, and both had major spinal surgeries! Dan continues to inspire and motivate and he is the best all around life coach! His life journey are his street creds, his mind body and voice are his tools! He can relate and he can help anybody!
