Description
In this episode I want to go deeper into some of the complexities of embracing discomfort to realise our dreams but, as talking about realising our dreams might be seen as a bit too "New Age woo woo" for the corporate environment, I'll also talk about actualising our desired outcomes.  I’ll also go into more detail about: how to keep going when you’re finding it hardCarol Dweck’s work on Mindsethow to measure your progress according to Sullivan and HardyJim Carrey’s speech from the Golden Globes in 2016 and embracing discomfort to develop a team as recommended by Patrick LencioniI’ll talk about how sometimes it’s not only okay but advisable to stop and get out of certain situations altogether and how to frame endeavours that we have chosen to no longer pursue. I’ll end by reminding us that this is simply a model and a paradigm to help us conceptualise one mindset or approach for personal growth and, as such, it has flaws and weaknesses and a tendency to break when we stretch it too far.  For example, do we really want to get all the way across an outer ring when the journey may turn out to be better than the destination?
