“I’m just really not a fan of the host’s affect. There’s an FM radio DJ vibe that rubs me the wrong way and the interviews are often very awkward - made up of that insipid breed of generic questions that only ever elicit generic answers.
Occasionally a guest will break through and make things interesting despite this (and there are some great guests), but that’s usually when the random ad interval will break in and ruin everything.
I wanted to love this podcast - backpacking (primarily in the Cascades) is my passion, but it just frustrates me.”
