The Perfect Balance!
I’ve spent my entire adult life working in Parks Maintenance, which involves a lot of running equipment throughout the day (mowers, bobcats, weed whackers, blowers, chainsaws, etc.). I learned early on that having an audio distraction makes the hours fly by, and when I started, NPR’s Car Talk was a great way to learn and laugh while getting projects done. Their balance of comedic banter and useful information was a perfect way to pass the time productively. But alas the times have changed, and NPR has gone strictly political, and the days of education have been replaced by woke round tables that do more to bore the listener than educate or entertain them. Thankfully, you guys have filled the void. Even the most mundane task is enjoyable when I broadcast your podcasts to my safety headphones. I often find myself smiling during the dirty jobs just because I’ve been listening to episodes of Casual Preppers, and I always have random facts to share with my crew in the work truck, but most importantly I have a positive attitude from all the laughs, which keeps morale higher than it would be otherwise. Over the past 5 years I’ve been lucky enough to build a little homestead with chickens, turkeys, a veggie garden, a great library of instructional books, food caches, medical supplies, and a well rounded arsenal based on function (a firearm for each purpose rather than a stockpile of Red Dawn ammo just to try to look “cool”). Furthermore I’ve integrated it in a grey man, low-key way, where I’m confident in my ability to provide for the people I love, without raising suspicion or attention to the rest of the neighborhood. When I was in college I was an active member of Search and Rescue under the great guidance of Mick Womersley, second in command of the Lockerbie Bombing investigation for the RAF. As wonderful as that man is, I feel like our SAR team would have retained a lot of information by listening to you guys, as you make survival fun and memorable. There’s really something to besaid about comedic influence on memory, and you guys know how to make an impression. Thank you for all that you do; for all the laughs and the way you orchestrate each podcast in a way that garners attention. You will be remembered in this household the way Click and Clack are remembered by car aficionados all across New England. Maybe my Peugeot will never start again, by I’ll sure chuckle every time I turn the key, and know I did everything the experts suggested before sending it to the junkyard. Cheers boys! Keep up the good work! And I’ll keep making my parks safe and pretty while killing time to your truly exceptional podcast!

I sort of stumbled across this podcast and I love it. I binged the first 47 podcasts in one month on my ridiculously long commute. These guys are hilarious yet they’ve managed to teach me useful prepping tips for the end of the world, tips like “living in a large metro area is risky” which...Read full review »

As a newbie at the whole prepper scene, I trawled around various podcasts filled with hardcore “Muricans” taking it WAY too seriously till I found the K Bone and Cam Jam. These lads are properly informative without coming across as tin hat wearing psychos. All this while being hilarious and...Read full review »
