The Transradial Arterial Approach for the Treatment of Peripheral Vascular Disease
Listen now
Description
In this episode, Dr. Vinoy S. Prasad and Dr. Amr M. Mohsen, MD, describe their utilization of the radial approach for peripheral intervention. They note, "The femoral arteries are the traditional access sites for endovascular interventions of the lower extremities due to convention and experience, as well as limitations of equipment design. However, just as with coronary angiography, transradial access has emerged as a safe and effective alternative for transfemoral endovascular catheterizations and interventions, and the technology is catching up to the need." Read the accompanying case report from the authors, "Transradial Arterial Approach for the Treatment of Bilateral Femoropopliteal Disease," published in Cath Lab Digest's May 2023 issue.
