It is commonly assumed that science and religious
faith are incompatible. Scientists ask what evidence there is
for religious beliefs. People of faith ask what evidence is there that
science gives a complete explanation of everything. Both science and
religious faith are committed to the meaningfulness and intelligibility
of the world. This lecture explores how these two approaches can
be compatible.
