“Hey! You said Thursday you would have part 2 of 911. It’s Friday. I loved part I and it said everything. I live here in Texas in a small town in very much Trumpville. I am 53 and I was walking into work on 9/11 in Dallas and Bob C. in sales said someone flew a Cessna into one of the WTT’s. There was the flag mania at the time and the Hummers; the H2 milk truck. What really struck me at the time was the immediate fascination with buying guns. There is this store in Grapevine near Dallas called Bass Pro. The place was like a Disney Land for the outdoors, even with a bar upstairs. It had the whole German Biergarten look to it. Fathers began trading in little kids soccer balls and baseballs and went into the kill animals fun fair. Even Mom could have a Glock. Guys started walking around in Khaki paramilitary attire. The whole family could now enlist. It’s hilarious to see these people come out here from Dallas, Houston and Austin with their camouflage regalia every hunting season. The standard issue is the giant pickup with the trailer with UTV. They don’t want to get dirt on their brand new Duramax so they drive around in their own troop transport UTV’s out on whatever ranch they are leasing. Now farmers and ranchers have a way now to actually make money by leasing out to these people.
I remember in the 80’s all guys wanted sports cars, now they want giant gas guzzling pickups, and they all want guns. America went to war and just can’t put the pipe down. Tim the tool guy even put down the Dewalt and went into “The Last Man Standing”.”
