A panel discussion on the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) was established by the United Nations Security Council in 1993 to investigate and prosecute crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in the former Yugoslavia since 1991. This panel discussion explores how the impending closing of the ICTY will affect justice and accountability in the Balkans including: the integration of international human rights standards on a national level, the challenges and opportunities confronting the domestic courts and the role of the media/civil society.
