Journalism Teacher Houston East End
I am making this podcast my FINAL EXAM! My students have, over the last few months, learned about journalistic writing. In each class they have listened to and written a straight news story after listening to BREAKING NEWS! They had to take notes, analyze the info, and write a clear, concise story specifically targeting their audience: their Houston Latino community. This podcast is so amazingly perfect: podcast reporting, deep, historic research on Houston East End amalgamated in riveting storytelling, using emotion regarding the human connection of violence, loss of a child and community revulsion, connecting George Floyd, BLM and police brutality on people of color. Today, Houston has a Hispanic police chief and Harris County has a Hispanic Sheriff!

Love it! Just listened to episode 1 and already learned a lot. I don’t care for the interjections of the narrators personal opinions and antidotes but I’ll deal with it to hear the stories! 🙌🏽🇲🇽🇺🇸
