Timely untold history
This story is a compelling tale of Latino police excelling in difficult times of racial and ethnic unrest. I’m talking about 1977, not current day, but it seems so current. My uncle, Robert Martinez, was a decorated police officer in Austin, Texas. The Chicano Squad story is personal to me because I’m sure my late uncle endured many of the same difficulties faded by the squad. As a journalist, I was struck by the fairness given in telling the story. Well done! This is untold history given in an entertaining manner.

Thank you for the podcast. It’s wonderful to learn something about my culture that I didn’t. That the Chicano squad had such an impact on fighting crime. It makes me proud to heard there story and tell others about it .

Really enjoy the stories. I find that there is a lot of repetition of what’s happened and what’s to come often throughout each episode at the start, middle and end. These episodes are stretched out a little too far.
