On September 16, the Minister of Commerce of China formally submitted an application forComprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership or CPTPP membership to New Zealand. The predecessor of CPTPP was Trans-Pacific Partnership or TPP, and TPP was designed to contain China economically.
