“Are you ready to be something more than yourself?”
If you’re a fan of Critical Roll or roleplay heavy games, then definitely give this a chance! This podcast takes the all too common narrative trope of a “chosen one” and unpacks, explores, and uniquely expands on the concept with such an interesting and engaging story that it makes me wish certain elements of the show actually existed in real life! More of an audio drama than a typical d&d podcast, I found it really easy to get sucked into the world of Chosen Ones, thirsting for more and more of it with each episode released. Even with such a colorful cast made up of PCs and NPCs, every character feels distinct and so easily recognizable. Each one has their own quirks, further exemplified by their status as ‘Chosen One’ candidates. They’ve made me laugh, cry, upset, and scared... and at the time I’m writing this review, we haven’t even gotten to the meat of the plot yet! Trust me, you guys’ll wanna stick around ;) Also, the work put into the sound design and visuals is AMAZING! I highly recommend checking out the YouTube version if you can! The animated opening and ending credits are definitely worth seeing!
