Film Music Radio at its best
Cinematic Sound Radio is one of the best shows of its kind. Erik Woods plays a wide variety of film music spanning the decades and multiple countries. Often he fashions suites built from multiple cues to provide an excellent summation of the score. In addition Woods is well versed in the medium and often provides interesting facts and history about the films, the music and the composers. This is a great show for those just discovering film music, and old hands who will find the suites and re-recordings a real treat. The show typically clocks in at two hours, but Erik’s selections and framing help time fly. But he’s also been experimenting with shorter shows clocking in at a little over an hour, perfect for lunchtime listening. All in all I can easily recommend this show and look forward to each new episode.
