In this episode we’re joined by CIPFA’s Local Government Policy Manager, Jo Pitt, who introduces CIPFA’s guide on local authority owned companies. We also speak to Perry Holmes, who is Director of Legal and Governance at Wiltshire Council. He provides an insight into his experience of local authority owned companies and shares some best practices.   We’re also joined by Alston Owens, who is Managing Consultant at GB Partnerships. He tells us about how inflationary pressures will affect NHS estates and the opportunities that integrated care systems will bring.  Finally, CIPFA International Director, Khalid Hamid, is in conversation with Sir Jon Thompson, who is a CIPFA qualified accountant and the CEO of the Financial Reporting Council. They discuss the role of internal audit in the public sector, and what the future looks like for the profession.
