In today's episode we cover chapters 13 and 14 of "Cranford" by Elizabeth C. Gaskell. Chapter 13 takes us into town with Miss Matty who is looking to make her first purchase of clothing of her choosing. While at the shop, she hears of trouble with a customers bank note that happens to also be her bank. Miss Matty helps others while sacraficing her own wants. Later she receives very bad news. Chapter 14 reveals a letter sent by the narrator to a man who could be Miss Matty's long lost brother. In a friends hardship, we see those around her rally together to help support their friend in need. Lastly, a plan is formed to help Miss Matty to continue on in her home and make enough money to cover her expenses.
