Description
I have had the pleasure of meeting a few women coffee producers, but meeting someone who runs the entire coffee farm and managing its work, and getting her on my podcast was the first for me. Meet Pranathi Shetty, she currently owns and runs "Kolli Berri" coffee farm by herself along with her mother-in-law.  I met her a year ago (virtually) for a prospective work that we planned to do, but sadly that couldn't happen, but I was pleased to meet her IRL for the first time too last year. I knew i wanted to get her on this podcast at some point, to get her take and share her story. She is a 'Bombay' girl studied business and worked in the banking industry for 11 years but now she owns and runs a 'huge' Coffee plantation and a gas station' in Chikmaglur, India. The story of this transformational journey itself is pretty awesome. But what is more amazing, is the story in the details, of how things were, are and hopefully will be in this sort of 'Man dominated' Coffee growers' world. Everything that has happened 'the good, the bad and the weirdly ugly', most of that is shared by Pranathi in this podcast episode.  For me this episode is nothing but pure inspiration, and the heart touching stories and experiences Pranathi shares is just pure bliss. Nothing is easy, but also nothing is impossible. This episode is exactly that, conveyed through the conversation.  Listen up this episode and see how it is to be a Single Woman, Running a Coffee plantation in the south of India, all by herself and the constant support she receives from her mother-in-law is nothing short of a motivational movie.  Hope you enjoy this episode as much as I have enjoyed making it, the starting of the episode has a background sound of Pranathi taking roll calls and doing the daily weighing of the coffees (in the absence of her writer the day I was there).  Contact no.
