One of the best podcasts of any genre
I came across this podcast after searching for Cold War material. Although there were several good options, this one stood out as its brilliantly researched and has input from so many angles of this era, with contributions from extremely interesting people who often had first hand experience in the USSR. My dad did some engineering inspection during this period of history, and although mainly limited to West Germany, had on one occasion the chance to pass through checkpoint Charlie into East Germany, which had its unique challenges that he told us about. So great to hear more about what day to day life was like, good and bad. Keep up the great work!

There’s a heap of varied interesting guests on the show from fighter pilots, to nuclear bunker workers to spies, Ian has a great way of letting the guests do the talking which works well 👍🏼
