Even so, Giles, the front desk clerk at the Venus Arms Hotel and Towers, attempted to be accommodating. He suggested the stranger speak with the hotel restaurant's maître d'. A good suggestion. The supposedly-French headwaiter is all too happy to dish some dirt on the departed Danny.
