Backwards Beatles
I found this in 2018, after listening to the new release of the White Album. I ended up listening to the series in reverse order, Abbey Road first and working backwards. It’s a good way to do it. I like Dave’s detail on the recording stuff and culture and Ian’s humour. Thigh like the fab 4, after a dozen or so podcasts they seemed to be wearing each other thin from time to time! It was a good idea to have Dave as a Beatles nutcase (like me) paired up with a more casual listener like Ian because you got to hear his reactions to the deeper story. A brilliant band - no one will ever do what they did between Revolver and Abbey Road again. Let alone in just over 3 years. Just amazing. I liked the Canadian Slant too. And Dave - fete is pronounced exactly like fate. Ha. Thanks both.

Amazingly informative, entertaining, funny and the banter between the two is like spending time with friends. Highly recommended. And by the way Ian is GREAT. He is hilarious and makes the podcast much better. Don't listen to these people that complain about him.Read full review »

He seems to be a good, positive sort of fellow and he has reined it in a bit as the ‘casts have continued. Dave is an extremely knowledgeable Beatles fan…some might say obsessive…but he clearly loves the...Read full review »
