thank you, such a great and needed podcast!
I love this podcast! I am so grateful it exists! The conversations are so rich and listening to theme opens up so many spaces to think and breathe -- To me it is like reading or listening to a poem. I can't wait for more episodes! I really also like the proposal to interview artists working in different kinds of mediums such that if you begin an inkling for one (poetry for example) you get interested in the others (dance, etc). I also love how we hear about the artists' processes, how they came to write or make the kind of art that they do, what their searches and their needs to express were, how this is connected to memory, to the body, to everyday life. It's very inspiring.

More reviews of Contemporary Black Canvas
What a fabulous opportunity to connect to the voices, lives, and arts of contemporary African American creatives of all genres. Dr. Deas promises to bring just the right mix of intellectual synthesis and fervent appreciation for the soul of Black art. Let's do this!
