I only watched the 3 seasons on Canal + in the summer 2023. I watched three times. The first season I watched first in French (couldn’t imagine Louis XIV speaking in English 😉) but then I watched one or two shots in English on YouTube. Then decided to watch the whole thing again in English !
I was amazed by the quality of the scenarios which was really even more obvious in the English language. A real pleasure.
All the actors are outstanding (both ladies and gentlemen). Beautiful characters played by beautiful persons.
These podcasts are an excellent idea for the “old” fans as well as for newcomers like me.
I am a specialist of the history of the 17th history (le grand siècle de Louis XIV). I am impressed by the historical side of the series. I realize that some facts are adapted to the narrative needs of the series, so it doesn’t disturb me. It is also splendid visually.
