Description
This isn’t your father’s workplace anymore. Not since the industrial revolution has the world of work undergone a such radical change, at such breakneck speed, as we are seeing today. Technology, the pandemic and decarbonisation are completely re-writing the rules across every industry – and there will be blood. So how can you – as a leader and in your own career – ride these changes?  To find out, we turned to someone who has literally written the book on the future of work – Professor Lynda Gratton, LBS and WEF superstar and our guest on this episode of Conversations on Climate. Lynda Gratton is Professor of Management Practice in Organisational Behaviour at London Business School, where she teaches the ever-popular ‘Future of Work’ and ‘Strategy in Transforming Companies’ programmes.  Beyond academia, she is a Council chair at the World Economic Forum, founder of Strategy consultancy HSM Advisory, and the author of numerous award-winning books including Redesigning Work and The 100 Year Life.  "You've got to change the way that you live. And I think helping people realise that they're going to live longer, that automation is going to make a huge impact on our lives...both in terms of robots and artificial intelligence...that knowledge is it helps people up-skill and re-skill..." "...I certainly love corporations a lot more than I love politicians...and political leaders at the moment. Because I think, you know, the difference between political leaders and corporate leaders is the selection process to get to the top of Shell or BP or Equinor is rather different from the selection process to become a prime minister or the the leader of a country...."
