NICK WINTON, JR.: "One Life"
Listen now
Description
Sir Nicholas 'Nicky' Winton was a young London stockbroker who visited Prague in December of 1938 where he discovers a large population of refugees fleeing the Nazis - and he knew he must do something, at least for the children. Back in London, Nick spent months arranging for foster families, passports, and documentation that would usher hundreds of children to safety... 669 children! 50 years later his story came to light in a remarkable way. Nick Winton lived his 106 years humbly, with the idea that service to others isn't a calling, it's simply what one does. Today, his son, Nick Winton, Jr., a soft-spoken, compassionate, storyteller joins us to talk about his dad and the film "One Life", starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, that is in theaters now. You'll be so moved! ~ Delilah  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
