“I’ve enjoyed listening to the show over the years and reading the Givens’ books on a variety of gospel related subjects. I was curious to listen to the interview with Rep. John Curtis as I have recently been following his work as U.S. Congressman. From what I could see, the relationship between the author and Mr. Curtis is a long standing one. I don’t know Mr. Curtis personally and can only assess his character by the the statements and videos he has shared with the public. His approach to the recent events in the capitol when contrasted to his silence during the summer events in Utah, specifically the BLM “protest” in which someone was shot in Provo (his district), reflects very poorly on how his personal opinion differs from his constituents. I have no say on his integrity as I don’t know him, but to bring someone to talk about his faith who seems to value his personal opinion above that of those that voted for him as a representative is not something that inspires faith. Politics is downstream from culture. One’s beliefs will always influence his politics. The lack of congruence in Mr. Curtis’ actions make me disinterested in both his politics and beliefs and now disinterested in the show as it is no longer worth my time.”
