“Convos Over Coldbrew is a really fun podcast to listen to! What I appreciate more recently about the podcast are the important points of view it explores by interviewing people such as Mary Cain. I hope this episode specifically receives a lot of attention because of the important, yet less embraced point of view that professional running and professional sports in general have conformed to standards tied to capitalism and thereby, racism. Emma’s interview with Mary opens up a dialogue to reflect upon the ways in which the running and field-sports world specifically has allowed the ideals of hierarchy to exploit field-athletes and runners.
