The New York Times reports that the Trump Administration has directed hospitals to bypass the CDC and send all coronavirus patient information to the Health and Human Services database in Washington. The move concerns public health officials, who fear the data may be “distorted for political gain”. The land border between Mexico and The U.S. will remain closed to non-essential travel through August 21st. The U.S./Canada border is expected to remain closed as well. The Mayor of Philadelphia will not allow large public events until the end of February 2021. Moderna will move to Phase III clinical trials with their vaccine candidate on July 27th, working with 30,000 people. Results from Phase III are expected in October. Russia will lift a mandatory 2-week quarantine for arriving visitors, but they must take a COVID-19 test either 3 days prior to or after their arrival.
