It’s not encouraging when the host herself sounds fearful...
I don’t know if it’s the host’s natural approach—quavering voice, vocal fry and long pauses—but there’s something that reads as funereal and fearful in her reporting. So much so, that I dropped out of the two episodes I sampled very quickly. I’d imagine a great many of us feel uncertain about what lies ahead in this time, and we need information, but when our correspondent seems either to be more interested in either calming her own fears, or assuring us that she’s one of us and she’s scared too—that’s a disservice to her purpose and institution.

Kelly McEvers is a very biased host but I value the information that is being put out here for us to stay up to date on this tragedy.

It’s brief, straightforward and informative. Exactly what I need.
