“What began as an invigorating encouragement to train up our kids in the way they should go, has become condescension. I don’t feel this way about each episode. Some are still quite biblically sound and leave room for differing opinions. Topics such as schooling options, health care/vaccination choices, and political stances are not salvation-level convictions. These are impactful choices we make for our families and God has given us the freedom to make those choices according to the leading of the Holy Spirit in each individual family. The rhetoric around such topics is very much, “If you were really a Christian, and really read what the Bible had to say about it, then you’d agree with our far-right-wing, naturopathic choices.” Now, I genuinely agree with many of their stances and even make some of the same choices as them. It’s their delivery of the material and twisting of God’s Word for their agenda that lights up the alarm bells in my gut. I cannot in good conscience keep listening as I feel I’m being manipulated and condescended, and it’s quite challenging to eat the fish and spit out the bones at this point.”
