“Found this pod a little while ago and have basically gone back and listened from the start. Let me say this: I have been active in the cover band world for over 20 years and playing in bands almost 30. I work in Live sound/event and show production (sound, lights, video/LED walls, etc…) for a living and play in a band called ‘Second Echo presents Class of 95’ (Second Echo is the singer’s original project, for live gigs I play either bass or R gtr as needed and we added a cover side to it because, you know, money… we are a 90’s Rock cover band) and I have my own original project ‘Missed the Messenger’ here in Vegas.
I’ve always ended up managing the bands I’m in, and/or doing sound while playing and singing - I’ve really enjoyed listening to this pod and while some might think ‘been there, done that…’ The information and scenarios on the show are extremely helpful and I really appreciate the two different hosts having some differing thoughts, but joining in helpful conversations about the topic. I regularly chime in on the Facebook group, usually when the discussion has been about sound-specific stuff (As a professional in the industry, sometimes I think the hobbyist language can leave room for misinterpretation and I’d prefer to speak in specifics so that noobs are not led astray) and would love to chat on the show!
I wait each week for the Spotify ‘blue dot’ to appear so I can enjoy another episode, usually on my way to a gig around Vegas (We do Live band Karaoke on Fridays on the strip and I mix a band on Wednesday nights at a different venue on the strip) and I really enjoy Adams videos/TIK TOKs and Dan’s no-muss-no-fuss approach. Keep up the good work! Had to come over to Apple pods to follow and review because Spotify doesn’t give you the option. Worth the effort.”
