Decision Fatigue...Ways to alleviate the distress.
Listen now
Description
Do you make decisions all day long and feel overwhelmed at times? Are you easily irritated when someone asks you to decide one more thing? The Prefrontal Cortex, the area of the brain in charge of decision-making, can get tired! Knowing how to prep and automate decisions can alleviate the distress we feel with decision fatigue. Routine is one the best ways to counter this fatigue because everything is automated. You don't even need to think about it! Here are some tips: Try to go to bed and get up at the same time each day, EVEN ON WEEKENDS! Meal prep or at least meal plan. That way, you know what you need for ingredients, and you don't have to take time every meal trying to decide what to have. It is done for you. Eat the same thing for Breakfast every day. One less decision to make in the morning when you are just trying to wake up :-) Delegate household chores, including taking turns making meals. Make a Master TO DO List, yet only pick 3 tasks to work on. Then, when those 3 are completed, bring 1 item at a time forward from the Master List. Organize your CLOSET! This is a big one. Simplify your clothing choices and set outfits out the night before. Putting outfits together, including accessories, the night before creates calm in the morning routine.  There are lots of ways to automate our lives...Let me know if you try any of these strategies! Message me on Instagram if you would like more tips! Heather
