Description
Sandra Gale left her really cool  ‘safe’ job as a stationery designer in Brisbane Australia to fully back herself with her stunning brand. Sandra created vibrant whimsy females to ‘celebrate the amazing, perfectly imperfect women we know and love  Sandra’s art & gifts have taken off, in just 12 months, her prints, T-shirts and candles are sold in many stores across Australia!   Sandra shows up at many markets plus she’s created a life with the perfect mix of running art workshops and lecturing at a university too.  Oh, and did I mention she started all of this in lockdown?  Sandra’s Takeaways    1. Mature students and graduates offer great value to a  studio, they have lots of skills and established life practices. There’s no straight path, just follow the breadcrumbs You don’t have professional experience in your field, everyone has skills they can bring to the table – a can-do attitude is more important  Your personality and attitude matter, show positivity and lightness and get stuck in whatever the task no matter what. If you have a dream that scares you, set a date, tell others don’t wait to be ready, you won’t ever feel sorted.  6. Your business is yours but, it will impact the whole family, deadlines, and trade shows, so make sure you’re intentional with  sharing the downtime  Doesn’t matter what creative path you’re on, we all have  the same imposter syndrome, and insecurities we were shamed at a young age for being sensitive and those ideas that an artist is a loner or  Morning pages are a great way to brain dump the weeds, the story o repeat, and get clearer by writing 3 pages when your first week is up. It clears your head for the clear inspired energy. Always add 20 % of the time to any deadline. Daring to jump is of course what we need, but build your runway before you jump. Look back on your word of the year and see if it aligns  The great resignation is a time in history when we will look back and see people re-evaluating their paths, and realising working for retirement isn’t a forefilled life. Give yourself permission to do it ‘scrappy’ showing up regardless gets the task done. Entrepreneurs have to have a support system that gets the terminology and knows the daily challenges and obstacles we have to work through. 14 . If you can’t get a coach, make sure you have a mentor in some way, you will find if you send the right questions many will love to give advice for free to help in some way. Passion is infectious – All humans from all communities and tribes go to an elder or master, and we are no different.
