Saudi Arabia and Iran resumed diplomatic relations through Chinese mediation and will reopen embassies in each other’s countries. Saudi Arabia and Iran reactivated bilateral accords for security cooperation, trade, and economic investment. Iranian-backed militant groups such as the Houthi insurgency in Yemen and Hezbollah operating in Syria have accepted this agreement.
