“The host seems to completely miss the mark when talking about Indigenous issues. Try listening to your Indigenous guests instead of talking over them. Since you can’t talk over me, here’s the answer to your train operations obsession: Protesters” (land protectors) are disrupting train lines because the hit to the economy is the ONLY way our money hungry government pays attention. If the trains go back to normal, people forget and stop caring about the story, just as Canadians all seem to forget the legacy of 500 years of genocide perpetrated against the Indigenous peoples at the hands of white settlers in order to gain access to land that is not rightfully theirs. Screw the trains, they shouldn’t be here in the first place. The solidarity acts taking place are so that something meaningful might actually come of the “discussions” that the government usually just pretend it forgot everything about two minutes later.”
