The San Jose Barracuda (18-29-9-2, 47 pts.) fell behind by a pair of goals in the first period on Sunday afternoon at the BMO Center and mustered just one goal despite outshooting the Rockford IceHogs (28-22-5-2, 63 pts.) 35-25 in an eventual 4-1 loss.
In the loss, Ethan Cardwell buried his team-leading 17th goal of the year and second in as many games. Cardwell is now tied for fifth in goals among AHL rookies.
