In the victory, seven different San Jose players finished with multiple points including Danil Gushchin who extended his point streak to six (2+6=8) and now leads the team with 14 goals, 23 assists, and 37 points.

The San Jose Barracuda (11-15-4-0) put 25 shots on net on Friday night at the Toyota Arena but failed to beat rookie goaltender Erik Portillo and were shutout 2-0 by the Ontario Reign (17-10-3-1). The shutout loss was the team’s third of the year and first since Nov. 24 when they were defeated 3-0 by the Reign.

The San Jose Barracuda (8-12-4-0) gave up a season-high eight goals on Wednesday at Tech CU Arena, and would fall 8-6 to the Tucson Roadrunners (15-8-1-1). The 14 combined tallies were the most in a Barracuda game this season. Despite the loss, Barracuda forward Nathan Todd (5+8=13) picked up an assist and now has points in eight straight game.

Eetu Makiniemi made 22 saves on Friday for his first shutout win since Jan. 20, 2023, and his fifth of his career as the Barracuda blanked the Calgary Wranglers, 3-0. Makiniemi has now won back-to-back games and is 1-1-0-1 against the Wranglers lifetime. Shakir Mukhamadullin (1+1=2), Leon Gawanke (0+2=2), and Danil Gushchin (0+2=2) would all finish the game with multi-point efforts, and Nathan Todd and Thomas Bordeleau would pot power-play goals.

The San Jose Barracuda (5-8-4-0) notched a season-high three power-play goals and were able to hold off a late Coachella Valley Firebirds (9-7-0-0) push on Wednesday night at Acrisure Arena for a 5-3 win. The victory was the Barracuda’s (1-6-2-2) first ever over the Firebirds in 11 attempts. Leon Gawanke led the way as he collected his fourth-career three point game (1+2=3), and Thomas Bordeleau (0+2=2), Jacob Peterson (1+1=2) and Nathan Todd (1+1=2) all finished with two points.

With the loss, the Gulls have now dropped 12 in a row (0-9-3-0). Thomas Bordeleau (two goals, one assist) and Ethan Cardwell (one goal, two assists) each recorded three points as the Barracuda collected their second win on their season-long seven-game homestand.
