I listened to the Defecting from Bethel podcast and let me be clear I am far from a Bethel defender...I certainly have many questions about Bethel and their doctrine, however I think this podcast takes a poor approach. Many verses are taken out of context or no context is given for verses. They leave the audience with no clear “solution” to this issue they have identified. The commentators harp on about how this isn’t what the church should look like, but give no concrete examples of what the church SHOULD look like. Additionally, I think that in efforts to make Bethel appear more like a cult, they almost argue too far in the other extreme, seeming to claim that all prophesy, healing, spiritual gifts or emotion are wrong and should not be used in the modern church...which is also not Biblical. The entire podcast came off as bitter and elitist and I think the way that the conversation was posed does more harm than good.

Not only biblically accurate but fair and honest with descriptions of the different cults they interact with. It’s almost impossible to find that mix today. Great job to the creators of this podcast! Fight the good fight for the gospel.
