“The episodes focusing on bodybuilding is great, so why one star??? If you look at the statistics, mental health issues are rising at an incredible rate amongst pre-teens, and teens. The last thing they need is to spend hour upon hour, day after day watching other people live their lives on live streams, instead of living their own lives. Many of these streamers are making a living at the expense of the wellbeing of the aforementioned group.
During the pandemic lockdown, no matter if you believed the mandates were right or wrong, one thing both sides agreed on, was that when the world opened up again, they wouldn’t take for granted being able to go and do whenever they wanted. It was during that time that streaming sites took off, because people couldn’t go anywhere. Once the world opened up again, look what happened… How many people sit at home alone, staring at their phone or laptop, while typing in a streamer’s chat.
Stop shining a spotlight on streamers. They are not heroes, and they shouldn’t be looked at as “celebrities.” They are either intentionally or unintentionally adding to the downfall of a generation. Twenty or thirty years from now while the streamers are counting their money, what will all of the people who followed them be doing? What are their memories going to be, sitting alone watching streamers? There was a time when fame use to be the byproduct of being really good at something. Now fame itself is the end goal from the start, without being really good at anything.”
