Beautiful storytelling and fascinating history, all in 1!
It’s my favorite way of learning - the one that feels like fun. Each episode is a delightful dive into an enchanting and intriguing story following a specific object and unveiling unexpected secrets about various places, societies and historical periods. Listening to these stories is a captivating experience that feels more like following a drama or novel than learning history. The storytelling skills of host Ben Miller meld beautifully with those of the historians, experts and collectors with whom he collaborates in each episode. I not only feel that my historical knowledge on so many different subjects has become deeper, but I also find myself inspired by the relevance these objects have in the world today, adding surprising insights into contemporary conversations. I highly recommend for those interested in history, beautiful objects, or anyone just looking for a fun story!
