These battlegrounds have torn apart families as well as pitted people against each other due to their personal views. -         There is anxiety and despair when it comes to acceptance when someone does come out depending upon who they are coming out to. -         Acceptance was different in the 90’s compared to the 00’s and 10’s -         Federal hate crimes legislation extended to include gay community in 2009 -         June 26, 2015 - The Supreme Court rules that same-sex couples can marry nationwide.
