Some good info. Sarcasm & sectarianism are a turnoff.
Christian news podcast that covers some good stories you won’t hear in mainstream. Good honest news coverage from a Christian perspective is desirable. Turnoffs of the podcast are regular sarcasm and “misreading” the news. What I mean is they will insert terms such as “in a new cover up” or such into the comments and then say “I misread that.” They claim to want to compete with big news media as an alternate. A noble goal. However, antics like this are not professional but junior high in style. They will never reach their said goal talking in such fashion. Also, they frequently throw in their doctrinal distinctives that also can have the effect of narrowing their audience. Many Christians would probably love sources like this. However, not many are theonomists. Simply having a Calvinist emphasis alone would turn off many Christians and doesn’t necessarily add to the news. But theonomy even narrows their ranks down within the Calvinist camp. Also, they regularly reference paedo baptism (baptism of infants). Again, a turn off to Reformed Baptists. Their goal is admirable but the way they are going about it, in my opinion, could be done in a much more mature fashion and a less sectarian way to help them gain listeners throughout Evangelicalism and maybe even Roman Catholics and conservative non-Christians. But the way they do some things on the show makes it seem like they are more interested in scoring points with their home choir than gaining the audience they have the potential to get. Save those narrow denominational distinctives for a theology discussion podcast. Avoid them in a news podcast. They’ve done well considering. They could do better. Become more Mere Christianity in news presentation. Get rid of the sarcasm and sound like the professionals they say they want to compete with. The potential is high.

Hi want to thank you for past broadcasts but out of conscience can’t listen anymore because advertising conferences mentioning “Do you like Jesus and beer?” to me is blasphemous to say the least. Sorry, but I got to go. Marley in PEI, Canada
