Subtle Bias + Engaging
Dan does a great job of presenting fascinating historical episodes and themes. Be careful of his bias, however, as it can significantly distort the historical narrative. For example, he describes the Black Panthers as fighting for “racial equality”, which isn’t true. They fought for liberation and segregation. Countless examples like this color the episodes. Note that the history presented here is not original research or quotations from primary sources. Dan synthesizes other historians to present his narrative, and he picks and chooses based on his biases and understanding of the subject matter. He doesn’t seem to go out of the way to dig into other perspectives.

I can't get enough. The interview with General McPeak was great. I guess I should be grateful that these only come out so often because the thought and display is excellent. Suppose I'll just listen to wrath of the Khans for a third time while I wait. Thanks Mr CarlinRead full review »
