Description
Hello Everyone! I was so excited when Amar Smalls reached out about being on the podcast. He is so funny and extremely talented. We talked about his dance journey, how he ended up in Ailey 2 (so iconic), Jake the snake, his art collective BROKELAND, and how sometimes he feels like Hannah Montanna. AMAR SMALLS (Brooklyn, NY) began his dance training at The Abrons Arts Center Henry Street Settlement in New York City. In 2017, he graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Arts and Performing Arts. He was a Scholarship and Independent Study student at The Ailey School and also trained at the Harlem School of the Arts and Steps on Broadway. At age 16, he started an art collective entitled BROKELAND, where artists create music, film, and paintings. Find Amar on Instagram at @amarsmalls and @blkmfchrist.
