Came for Goldblum, still won’t be staying
When I heard Jeff Goldblum was going to be on a D&D podcast, I thought this was going to be a wonderful creation of my favorite things. However, while Goldblum is as radiant and brilliant as ever, he cannot save this podcast. If you are here for a fantasy story over acted with distracting sound effect and music that overshadows the voices, then maybe this is for you. If you are someone like me who listens to several other D&D play through podcasts, I’ll tell you this is not like any of the others. I don’t like that I have no idea how this story is coming to be. Was any of this because of certain rolls? I’ll never know. It’s as if they used the game to write a story, and then are just giving us the story after. The game is hardly in sight. No funny banter. I don’t feel apart of this. And even the story is lackluster and I strain to hear the voices. Everyone uses “an actor voice” and not something as immersive as I think they intended. To say I’m disappointed and dissatisfied is an understatement. I really do not know why Goldblum joined this podcast. If this is for his “World According to” show and he is doing an episode on D&D, I’m really disappointed he picked this show. I would have rather he was on a show like The Adventure Zone or NADDPOD. Heck would have even been hilarious for him to try out Dungeons and Daddies. This. This isn’t D&D for me. This is just an awful audio fantasy.

More reviews of Dark Dice
Epic actual play that combines the best of DnD and Call of Cthulhu gaming systems. It’s interesting to finally have a DnD podcast that isn’t afraid to get dark. Great voice acting, great storytelling, just overall great.

OMG
I am in total awe! I love D&D and horror and this is a perfect marriage of the two. Can not wait for more!

Great show. Good story. The worst thing is seeing your favorite characters die, and worrying whether or not they'll survive. Really good, though.Read full review »
