Marked decline in the 2nd season.
Started out magnificently but deteriorated wildly. When the Dark Tome began it had a strange, serious, dark, and gothic feel. It seemed epic and disturbing. It was uneven in tone through the first season but still well done. The second season though.... wow. It seems like a totally different show with rampant social justice narratives and often campy situations and storylines. Production values remained high. It’s as though en entirely different writing staff took over - or the original ones suffered lobotomies. 4.5 stars for first season. 1.5 for second season.
