“As a Deadhead who appreciates the true crime genre, this podcast piqued my interest. Alas, I found the conceit pretty forced in terms of the mystery surrounding Deadheads that have met untimely ends. The mystery, to me, seems to have more to do with certain risky behaviors found in and around the Dead and post-Dead lot: heroin use, hitchhiking, getting too close too quickly with shady folks. The Dead crowd is indeed an exceptional one; these deaths, however tragic and misfortunate, don’t seem linked in any meaningful way beyond the victims’ musical taste and risky behaviors while on tour.”
