It’s about way more than one audition disappointment
I came across this podcast, unfortunately, after it finally wrapped (at least for the third and… final season?), but at least this allowed me to roll through it on my own timeline. The hook is the story of the “dead eyes” firing, with the twist of “the nicest man in Hollywood” (Tom Hanks) supposedly being behind it, but the series in a broader way explores the challenges of surviving in an entertainment industry where talent, luck (and bad luck), transitory opportunities, and cold judgement swirl around in a chaotic mix, and no one can predict what will come out of it. Essential listening for any young actor/comic/performer looking to get into what can be a ruthless business. Very funny and revealing. I hope Connor continues to create this, even though the “final” episode might seem like it could indeed be the end of what he wanted to accomplish. I would definitely keep following it.

I found out about this podcast while because it’s ad ran while I was listing to something else. I’m glad I decided to listen and have recommended to others because all the interviews and stories are interesting.

Great guests and an interesting story! I hope the show concludes with an interview with the man himself!
