What? That’s it?!
I ended up to signing up to Stitcher Premium to listen to ‘The Full Season’ It turns out, it’s only 7 episodes... It finishes unexpectedly on a bunch of pointless philosophical cliches. I had hoped that it was building to something meaningful. The podcast barely scratches the surface, I was hoping it might explore some of the strange beliefs of the cult or why people were so wrapped up in this spiritual guru, his origins or what distinguished him. A far better podcast is Heaven’s gate which unpacks the cult (Heaven’s Gate) from all angles including families, past members and current members, outlays the strange beliefs that ultimately led to a mass suicide of 39 people.
