Pacing issues.
Spoiler Alert for episode 117. I decided to listen because I’d heard an ad for Deep Cuts on another podcast I listen to. I clicked the most recent one, Earthworm Jim, and was excited to hear about the tarnished legacy of its creator. 20 minutes in and I knew more about one of the dude’s blended family dynamics than I did about Earthworm Jim’s creator. 30 minutes in and I felt like they were finally going to get to the meat of the subject. They mention two off-colour lines from the original video game, allude to how dark it’s going to get, say “we’re getting there”, but then they meander again. 50 minutes in, and after lots of rambling they basically just say the guy is a conservative. There was no proper story telling format, and by the time I found out what the tarnished legacy was, I was bored, and honestly annoyed. You need proper rising action for the climax of a story to be entertaining. I’m all for a good bashing of right wing idiocy, but this was just way too slow paced for me to enjoy. Maybe because the podcasters like video games so much, it was hard for them to stay on track? I’m going to try one more episode and I’ll report back. Two stars for now.

More reviews of Deep Cuts
In some of your podcasts the editing isn’t very good? The sound cuts and jumps to other parts of the podcast then back to where you were just at? Not sure if it’s just my phone or not? Great podcast otherwise but the editing is really bothering me

You call someone a racial profiteer and yet are trying to profit from the same story? Lol total trash. There are literally a million better podcasts.

Came across these by accident but what a great podcast! Well researched and well delivered subjects, exploring all the rabbit holes and exposing the “kayfabe”. Really enjoyable listening and regularly has me laughing out loud. Love it!
