“I rarely write reviews, I have been a connoisseur of audio dramas for the last decade plus, and while this show absolutely has top tier potential in all facets (production quality, writing, acting, etc.), it ends up falling short of what it could be, and here is why:
There is no semblance of regularity. It’s impossible to get engaged with a story when you have accepted there will be no next chapter on more than one occasion. It is frustrating enough when you have to wait a year between the second season premiere and the follow up episode. To make things worse, there is a massive ad campaign across several shows advertising and hyping this second season, and after nearly 14 months there are 3 episodes… it’s impossible to invest in. The story gets lost, and it is so unfortunate, because it’s been an excellent story. What’s the point in hyping something up so much, even if it’s initial quality is worthy of the hype, when it’s just going to die again after each release? It feels like a practical joke.
The show is arguably over produced. I don’t agree with a lot of the other criticisms that reviewers have made, it’s absolutely brilliant as far as sound design goes, but I can’t say that it is not over produced, especially if that is a contributor to the absolute absence of consistent releases, the most important thing is the story, it’s what people invest in, and without you have nothing. So please; either announce that it’ll be a bi annual show and if you want the complete story then you can pre order it in 6 years from now, or adhere to a reasonable release schedule.”
